Key Provisions / Thematic Areas
The objects of the Authority are to:
- Serve as the primary regulatory of SEZs, ensuring compliance, oversight, and a transparent, efficient, and level playing field for all Special Economic Zone Users.
- Facilitate and empower the special economic zones, including by ensuring adequate land, off-site infrastructure, and other resources are available to private-sector developers.
- Ensure that local small and medium-sized enterprises, workers, and communities benefit from special economic zones.
- Establish a streamlined regulatory environment by coordinating the actions of relevant government entities through a one-stop shop and supporting regulatory innovation and efficiency.
