Manufacture and Sale of Spirits (Amendment) Regulation, 1964, L.I 335
52B (l) No person shall sell akpeteshie except to
the following, namely—
Ghana Distilleries Ltd.
West African Enterprises Ltd.
(2) Any person who acts in contravention of this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction thereof be liable (for each such offence) to a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or to both such fine and such imprisonment " ;
(a) by the substitution in regulation 35 of the figures and letter " 52A " for the figures " 52 "; and
(b) by the substitution in the forms of licence for the sale of spirits set out in the Second Schedule of the words " gin manufactured by an approved or directed distiller " for the word " akpeteshie '
(c) by the the insertion, immediately after the definition of "Act" of the following definition-
"directed distiller" means a distiller or a group of distillers directed under section 2 of the Manufacture and Sale of Spirits Act, 1962 (Act 154) to be placed under cotrol of the Excise Ordinance, 1953 (No 31 of 1953).
