COCOA INDUSTRY (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1968 L.I 586
Regulation 13:
(l) Cocoa shall be inspected and graded as grades. follows:—
(a) Grade I—Cocoa which is thoroughly dry, free from foreign matter, smoky beans and an evidence of adulteration, and which contains not more than three per centum by count of mouldy beans, not more than three per centum by count of slaty beans, and not more than three per centum by count of all other defects.
(b). Cocoa which is thoroughly dry, free from foreign matter, smoky beans and any evidence of adulteration, and which contains not more than four per centum by count of mouldy beans, not more than eight per centum by count of slaty beans, and not more than six per centum by count of all other defects.
(c) Sub-Standard—All cocoa which fails to reach the standard of Grade Il will be regarded as sub-standard cocoa and marked "SS".
2) For the purposes of this regulation (and without prejudice to the general effect of the definition of the words "to adulterate" as appearing in regulation 2 of these Regulations), the expression "evidence of adulteration" includes the presence of black and decayed or rotten cocoa beans which are generally known in cocoa growing areas as "atowuo" or "abinkyi. ) by the substitution for regulation 23 thereof, of the following new regulation
